In Erzincan, where the weather has been warmer than seasonal norms, winter was practically non-existent. Storks, known as the harbingers of spring and seemingly confused by climate change, have arrived early in Erzincan.

The arrival of the storks, which were expected at the beginning of April, towards the end of March surprised those who saw them.

The storks, which have been returning to the same spot for about 50 years from generation to generation, were photographed in a village in the Kemah district of Erzincan.

Village resident Musa Taştan stated that the storks arrived early, saying, "There are all kinds of birds in this region, such as wild ducks, partridges, storks, starlings, and sparrows. The storks arrived a bit early this year. Even the crocuses in the mountains bloomed early. As long as I can remember, they have come here every year."
Taştan noted that the storks have been coming for 50 years, adding, "They used to come to a poplar tree, now they come to this utility pole. Since I was born, a pair of storks has always come. They have 5-6 chicks. When autumn comes, they leave here. Sometimes it happens that it snows, and they stay through the storms and cold," he said.
