The heat wave arriving from Africa continues to have an impact. High humidity levels combined with the Basra low have begun to cause stifling conditions. However, the Meteorological Service has warned citizens about local heavy rainfall in the vicinity of Ağrı. Furthermore, strong storms from the north, accompanied by high humidity, will be effective in the southern and eastern parts of the Marmara region, the northern and coastal Aegean, the interior parts of the Mediterranean, the southern and eastern parts of Central Anatolia, the western parts of the Western Black Sea, the interior parts of the Central Black Sea, and the southeastern parts of Eastern Anatolia.
WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE TODAY?
According to the forecasts made by the General Directorate of Meteorology for today, the northeastern parts of our country are expected to be partly to very cloudy, with local showers and thunderstorms in the vicinity of Erzurum, Kars, and Ağrı, as well as the interior parts of eastern Samsun, Ordu, Giresun, Trabzon, and Rize, while other areas are expected to be mostly clear and sunny. Air temperatures are expected to continue to hover above seasonal norms across the country.
STRONG WIND AND FLOOD WARNING
It was stated that the wind will blow strongly (30-60 km/h) from the north in the southern and eastern parts of the Marmara region, the northern and coastal Aegean, the interior parts of the Mediterranean, the southern and eastern parts of Central Anatolia, the western parts of the Western Black Sea, the interior parts of the Central Black Sea, and the southeastern parts of Eastern Anatolia. Since the precipitation is expected to be locally heavy in the vicinity of Ağrı, the Meteorological Service has warned citizens regarding flash floods and inundation.
