The latest weather assessments conducted across the city indicate that temperatures will rise above seasonal norms in the coming days. Due to the hot air carried by southerly winds, thermometers in Istanbul are expected to exceed 30°C.
The air temperature, measured at around 22°C in the early hours of the day, will rise towards noon to reach levels of 30°C. In the evening hours, thermometers are projected to show 21°C, and 19°C during the night. Humidity levels will fluctuate between 40% and 70% throughout the day. The sea water temperature will hover around 19°C.
Experts report that the lodos will be effective as light breezes, with wind speeds varying between 2 and 12 kilometers per hour. In the northern districts of the city, local and temporary light precipitation may be seen during the day.
AKOM has warned citizens in Istanbul against the heatwave expected throughout the week. The statement said, "Sunny and hot weather is expected to prevail across the city throughout the week. Rainy weather may only occur in the north, in the form of short-term and local showers."
According to the details of the 6-day forecast provided for the coming week, no precipitation is expected in the city between June 3 and June 8, and the sky will generally be clear. Estimated temperature values range between 28°C and 31°C. As the days progress, the lowest temperatures will drop to 17°C, while the highest values will reach 31°C.
Experts emphasize that citizens who will be outdoors during the sunny noon hours should be careful. It is recommended to consume sufficient water and not to stay under the sun for long periods to prevent heatstroke.
