Heavy rainfall warning for the first day of the holiday

The General Directorate of Meteorology has announced the weather forecast for April 10. Accordingly, while a yellow alert has been issued for two provinces on the first day of the holiday, rainfall is expected to be heavy in the vicinity of Van, Hakkâri, Şırnak, Diyarbakır, Siirt, and Batman.

According to the latest assessments made by the General Directorate of Meteorology; the country is expected to be partly to mostly cloudy, with showers and thunderstorms expected in the interior of the Western Mediterranean, the Eastern Mediterranean, the south and east of Central Anatolia, the interior of the Eastern Black Sea, Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia, as well as the surroundings of Tokat, Rize, and Artvin.

Rainfall is expected to be heavy in the vicinity of Van, Hakkâri, Şırnak, Diyarbakır, Siirt, and Batman. Haze and fog are expected in the east of the Marmara region and the Western Black Sea during the morning and night hours. There is a risk of avalanches, snowmelt, and landslides in the interior of the Eastern Black Sea and the north and east of Eastern Anatolia.

AIR TEMPERATURE

Temperatures are expected to rise by 4-6 degrees in the interior and western parts, decrease by 2-4 degrees in the eastern parts, and remain above seasonal norms across the country.

WIND

The wind is generally expected to blow from the north and northwest, light to occasionally moderate.

HEAVY RAINFALL WARNING

As rainfall is expected to be heavy in the vicinity of Van, Hakkâri, Şırnak, Diyarbakır, Siirt, and Batman, caution and precautions should be taken against potential negative consequences such as flash floods, flooding, transportation disruptions, lightning, hail, and strong winds during precipitation.

AVALANCHE DANGER AND SNOWMELT WARNING

Caution and precautions should be taken as there is a risk of avalanches, snowmelt, and landslides on slopes with high snow cover in the interior of the Eastern Black Sea and the north and east of Eastern Anatolia.
