In the Ali Hocalı neighborhood of Adana's central Yüreğir district, hundreds of butchered horse and donkey remains were found in an irrigation canal.

It was observed that after the horses and donkeys were slaughtered, the remaining parts were placed in bags and thrown into the water, where stray dogs and cats had pulled the pieces out and scattered them around.

FOUL ODOR SPREAD TO THE SURROUNDINGS

Upon the spread of a foul odor in the area, citizens reported the situation to the authorities. While the teams that arrived at the scene could not determine who had dumped the horse and donkey remains, they carried out cleaning work in the area.

"IT IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED"

Local residents expressed their outrage at the situation.

Speaking to İHA, one of the neighborhood residents, İsmail Yıldız, stated, "We experience this all the time; it is not the first time this has happened. They throw the horse and donkey bones from further up, and they accumulate here. Because they strip the meat and throw the bones, there is a very foul odor. The neighborhood at the bottom of the canal is exposed to the smell a lot. We are truly very saddened; it lowers the value of Adana."
