Hamdullah Aras, a diving instructor in Karaburun, said that when they went out by boat for a dive, they saw a motionless dolphin on the water's surface.
Explaining that they realized the dolphin was dead when they approached it, Aras said, "There were shotgun pellet marks on its body."
Aras stated that they believe a few days had passed since the dolphin's death, adding, "We estimate that 3-4 days have passed since it was killed. A stone was tied to its tail with a rope and it was released downwards. It initially sank with the stone, but after the dolphin bloated, it surfaced along with the stone," he said.
