Investigation launched into Çorlu Creek turning turquoise
An investigation has been launched and water samples have been taken from Çorlu Creek, which flows through the Ergene district of Tekirdağ, is known for its pollution, and briefly turned turquoise.

Çorlu Creek, one of the major tributaries of the Ergene River, which is frequently in the news due to its pollution in the Thrace region, has been flowing with industrial waste for years.
According to a report by DHA, a section of the creek approximately 1 kilometer long between the Yulaflı and Sağlık neighborhoods in the Ergene district turned turquoise yesterday afternoon. Strong odors also spread to the surrounding area from the section where the creek changed color. The creek, which flowed with a turquoise color for about 5 hours, later returned to its normal color. Teams from the Tekirdağ Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change took samples from the creek and conducted an inspection in the surrounding area.
Officials stated that the nature of the waste or the cause behind the turquoise color will be revealed following laboratory analysis.
