Snow and frost alert from the Meteorological Service: Harsh winter on one side, spring weather on the other

According to the assessments made by the General Directorate of Meteorology: The eastern parts of our country are expected to be partly to very cloudy, with precipitation expected in the eastern Black Sea coast, the east of Eastern Anatolia, the surroundings of Ordu and Artvin, and after nightfall in the surroundings of Çanakkale and the western parts of Balıkesir. Precipitation is expected to be in the form of rain and showers, and sleet and snow in the east of Eastern Anatolia and the surroundings of Artvin. Icing and frost are expected in the eastern regions during the morning and night hours. There is a risk of avalanches in the high sections of the inner parts of the Eastern Black Sea and in the sloping areas with high snow cover in the east of Eastern Anatolia.

Air temperatures are expected to rise by 4 to 6 degrees in the inner and western parts of the country and decrease by 5 to 7 degrees in the east, with no significant changes expected elsewhere.

The wind is expected to blow from the north in the eastern parts of the country and from the south in other places, light to occasionally moderate in strength.

It is expected to be partly to very cloudy, with clear skies in the east, and showers in the surroundings of Çanakkale and the western districts of Balıkesir after nightfall.
