Meteorological warning for downpours: Air temperatures to drop

According to the latest assessments by the Turkish State Meteorological Service: The southern, central, and eastern parts of our country are expected to be partly to very cloudy, with downpours and thunderstorms forecast for the inland parts of the Mediterranean, the eastern part of Eastern Anatolia, as well as the surroundings of Afyonkarahisar, the northern districts of Ankara, and the provinces of Konya, Bingöl, Mardin, Batman, and Siirt. Mist and localized fog are expected in the eastern Marmara and inland Black Sea regions during the morning and night hours. There is a risk of avalanches and snowmelt in sloping areas with high snow cover in the inland parts of the Eastern Black Sea and Eastern Anatolia.

Air temperatures are expected to decrease by 1 to 3 degrees in the northern parts of the country, with no significant changes elsewhere, and are expected to continue hovering around seasonal norms across the country.

The wind is expected to blow from northerly directions, and from southwesterly and westerly directions in the southwestern parts of the country, generally light to occasionally moderate.

It is expected to be partly and slightly cloudy. Mist is expected in some parts of the east of the region during the morning and night hours.
