While precipitation is expected to be heavy in many regions and very heavy or severe in some parts, snow is expected in inland and high-altitude areas, icing and frost in Eastern Anatolia, and an avalanche risk in the Eastern Black Sea and the eastern part of Eastern Anatolia. According to the assessments made by the General Directorate of Meteorology: The country is expected to be rainy overall, with precipitation generally in the form of rain and showers, thunderstorms on the southern and western coasts of the country, and sleet in the north and east of Eastern Anatolia, and over time in Thrace, the inland parts of the Western Black Sea, the north of Central Anatolia, and the Taurus Mountains region, with snow at higher altitudes. Precipitation is expected to be heavy in the south of Central Anatolia, the west of Eastern Anatolia, the western parts of Southeastern Anatolia, the Central and Eastern Mediterranean, and around Bitlis, and very heavy and severe in the northern parts of Adana and the western parts of Kahramanmaraş. Icing and frost are expected in the northeast of Eastern Anatolia during the morning and night hours. There is a risk of avalanches and snowmelt in the high-altitude, sloped areas with deep snow cover in the inland parts of the Eastern Black Sea and the eastern part of Eastern Anatolia. Dust transport is expected in the east of the Eastern Mediterranean and in Southeastern Anatolia.
Air temperatures, which are expected to decrease with the precipitation in the western parts of the country, are expected to continue to hover above seasonal norms across the country.
Winds are expected to blow from southerly directions, and from northerly directions on the coasts of Marmara, the Aegean, and the Western Black Sea, at moderate speeds, and occasionally as strong winds and short-term storms (40-75 km/h) in places other than Southeastern Anatolia.
