According to the latest assessments by the General Directorate of Meteorology, partly to very cloudy weather is expected across Turkey. While rain and downpours are expected on the Black Sea coast (except Düzce) and in the surroundings of Mersin, Malatya, Şanlıurfa, and Siirt, sleet and snowfall will be effective in the inner parts of the Central and Eastern Black Sea and in Eastern Anatolia.

Sleet and snowfall are also expected in the surroundings of Kayseri, Sivas, Diyarbakır, Mardin, and Batman.

YELLOW ALERT FOR 6 PROVINCES

Meteorology issued a yellow alert for 6 cities, stating that precipitation could be locally heavy, especially in the southeast of Eastern Anatolia and in the surroundings of Mardin, Batman, and Siirt. Authorities reported that citizens should be careful against floods, water inundation, and disruptions in transportation.

FOG, ICING, AND FROST EXPECTED

Fog and mist are expected in the morning and night hours in Marmara, Inner Aegean, Central Anatolia, and the inner parts of the Black Sea. Icing and frost events are expected to be effective in the inner and eastern regions.

AVALANCHE RISK IN EASTERN REGIONS

A warning was issued regarding the danger of avalanches and the risk of snowmelt in sloping areas with high snow cover in the inner parts of the Eastern Black Sea and in Eastern Anatolia.

AIR TEMPERATURES WILL DROP

According to meteorological data, air temperatures are expected to decrease by 2 to 4 degrees across the country.

STRONG WIND WARNING

The wind is expected to blow generally from the north, light to moderate, but it may blow strongly at speeds of 40–60 km/h in the inner parts of the Mediterranean and the south of Central Anatolia. Authorities requested that precautions be taken against potential negative effects due to strong winds.
