Meteorology issues warning: Downpours expected in many provinces, including Istanbul

According to the latest assessments made by the General Directorate of Meteorology: The northern parts of our country and the Mediterranean are expected to be partly to occasionally very cloudy, with localized downpours and thunderstorms expected in Thrace, the Taurus Mountains area of the Mediterranean, the Western Black Sea (except Sinop), the interior parts of the Eastern Black Sea, and the surroundings of Istanbul, Kocaeli, Artvin, Kars, and Ardahan, while other areas are expected to be mostly clear and sunny.

It is estimated that there will be no significant change in air temperatures and that they will remain around seasonal norms.

The wind is expected to blow from the north, and from the south in the southeastern parts and the Mediterranean, generally light to occasionally moderate, and strong (30-50 km/h) from the north along the Southern Aegean coasts.

It is expected to be mostly clear and sunny, becoming partly to very cloudy in the west over time, with local downpours and thunderstorms in Thrace and the surroundings of Istanbul and Kocaeli.
