Nearly 21 million TL fine for two companies polluting the environment
Following a paint spill on the Dinar-Çay Highway, two companies identified in Afyonkarahisar have been issued a total administrative fine of 20 million 980 thousand 602 TL in accordance with the Environmental Law.

Following an investigation launched after environmental pollution occurred due to paint spilled on the road at the Akçaköy section of the Dinar-Çay Highway in Afyonkarahisar, the responsibility of two companies was determined. Teams were dispatched to the region following complaints received by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change regarding the matter.
As a result of the inspections, the responsibility of Europap Tezol Kâğıt Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. and Cengizhan Lojistik for the paint spill in question was revealed. Evaluating the extent of the damage caused to the environment, ministry officials announced that a total of approximately 21 million TL in administrative sanctions had been imposed on both companies, with 10 million 490 thousand 301 TL each.
In a statement made by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, it was noted that, “As a result of the investigations, a total administrative sanction of 20 million 980 thousand 602 TL, consisting of 10 million 490 thousand 301 TL for each, has been imposed on Europap Tezol Kâğıt Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. and Cengizhan Lojistik, which were determined to have caused environmental pollution, within the scope of the Environmental Law.”
Furthermore, it was reported that ministry teams have begun cleaning operations to remove the paint spilled on the road. Officials stated that inspections and sanctions against similar incidents will continue.
