Number of packages collected in DRS announced! The top province has been revealed

Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum shared new data regarding the Deposit Return System (DRS). According to Kurum's statement, 100 million 182 thousand 985 beverage packages were collected across Turkey between July 1 and August 11.
In a post on his social media account, Minister Kurum stated that the system is an important step in bringing the Zero Waste approach into daily life. Kurum said, "Nature has won 100 million times. We have carried the Zero Waste vision, which spread from Turkey to the world under the auspices of the esteemed First Lady Emine Erdoğan, into every area of daily life with our Deposit Return System, DRS."
The distribution of the collected packages by type was also announced. Accordingly, of the packages brought into recycling, 66 million 146 thousand 145 were PET bottles, 17 million 43 thousand 567 were aluminum beverage cans, and 16 million 993 thousand 273 were glass bottles.
According to the data, the provinces where the most packages were collected under the DRS system were Antalya, Istanbul, Kocaeli, Adana, and Izmir, respectively.
Stating that the system will be expanded, Kurum said, "We have recycled 100 million packages so far. We will grow and expand the DRS, which our nation loves very much, and increase its sphere of influence."
