The Burdur Governor's Office has issued a written statement regarding reports on social media and news sites claiming that a new road is being built around Lake Salda. In the statement, the allegations were denied, and it was clarified that the work is a road improvement project.

The statement is as follows:

"Lake Salda and its surroundings, which were declared a Special Environmental Protection Area in 2019, are being protected with the highest level of environmental sensitivity, and in this context, non-compliant activities are strictly prohibited in the region. Contrary to claims made on some social media platforms and news sites, there is no question of opening a new road around Lake Salda; the work being carried out is the improvement of the existing road that has been used by the local people for years. Without any narrowing or widening of the platform of the existing road that stretches along the shore of Lake Salda—which is heavily used by the local people between Kayadibi Neighborhood and Doğanbaba Village in Yeşilova District—the ground has been reinforced and improved in locations where it had deteriorated, while maintaining the platform width, and it has been made available for public use as a 'shared bicycle path.' We kindly request that misleading posts based on incomplete information not be made regarding this matter and that such posts, which are far from the truth and malicious, be disregarded."
