Storm alert in Marmara! Temperatures are dropping

The Turkish State Meteorological Service has issued a strong wind warning for today, particularly for the Marmara region. Following the afternoon hours, winds are expected to blow at speeds of 40-60 kilometers per hour across the region due to the effect of the northeasterly wind (poyraz). Citizens have been urged to be cautious against potential hazards such as roof damage, fallen trees, and disruptions in transportation.

Along with the wind, temperatures in the region have also begun to drop. In Istanbul, the temperature fell to 19 degrees last night. This decline is expected to continue throughout the day.

PRECIPITATION WILL INTENSIFY IN THE BLACK SEA AND EASTERN REGIONS

According to the meteorological forecasts, the northern parts of our country will be partly to very cloudy in places. Localized showers and thunderstorms are expected in Samsun, Rize, Artvin, Kars, Ardahan, and the eastern parts of Van. There is a risk of flash floods, flooding, and lightning in these areas.

In other regions, the weather will generally be clear and slightly cloudy. It was reported that temperatures will continue to remain high in regions where no precipitation is expected.

REGIONAL DIFFERENCES IN TEMPERATURES ARE NOTABLE

While temperatures in Marmara are returning to seasonal norms, they continue to remain above seasonal norms in the Mediterranean, Aegean, and Southeastern Anatolia regions. Temperature values exceeding 35 degrees are being measured in these areas.
