Stubble fires broke out one after another in the evening hours around the Sungurlu district, located on the Çorum-Ankara highway. Citizens who noticed the flames rising in four separate areas quickly reported the situation to the fire department teams. The teams made intense efforts against the risk of the fires spreading to residential areas and agricultural lands.

Fire department personnel who reached the scene are continuing their intervention efforts to bring the flames under control. Authorities announced that an official investigation has been launched by the prosecutor's office to determine the cause of the fires and to investigate the possibility of sabotage or negligence.
