Temperatures to drop: 10 hours of rain expected in Istanbul!

AKOM has reported that rain arriving from the Balkans is expected to begin in Istanbul in the morning and continue until the afternoon, with 10-20 kilograms of precipitation per square meter expected.

According to the latest assessments by the General Directorate of Meteorology, partly to very cloudy weather is expected in the northern, inner, and western parts of Turkey. Showers and thunderstorms are forecast for the Marmara region, the inner and eastern Mediterranean, as well as the surroundings of Kütahya, Konya, Karaman, Artvin, Erzurum, Kars, Ardahan, Ağrı, and Iğdır.

The rainfall in the Marmara region is expected to be heavy in some areas. According to the assessments, local heavy rainfall may be seen in the Thrace region in the afternoon, and on the European Side of Istanbul starting from the morning hours.

HOURS WHEN RAINFALL WILL BE EFFECTIVE

According to the statement by AKOM, the temperature in Istanbul, which has been hovering between 30-32 degrees throughout the week, will drop to 27 degrees today. The rain arriving from the Balkans is expected to start in the city around 08:00 and be effective in different districts until 18:00.

AKOM stated that 10 to 20 kilograms of precipitation per square meter could fall in Istanbul. Officials warn that sudden downpours may cause disruptions in transportation and localized flooding.

Air temperatures are expected to decrease by 4 to 6 degrees in the Marmara region, while no significant change is expected in other regions. The wind is expected to blow generally from northern directions, and from the west and southwest in the southeastern parts, at light to occasionally moderate strength.

In the Marmara region, in addition to Istanbul, showers and thunderstorms are expected in Bursa in the afternoon, while local heavy rainfall is forecast for the northern districts of Çanakkale and the surroundings of Kırklareli.

WEATHER IN SOME PROVINCES

According to the Meteorology's province-by-province forecasts, weather in Ankara is expected to be 32 degrees and slightly cloudy, becoming partly cloudy over time. While showers and thunderstorms are forecast for Istanbul at 27 degrees, it is stated that the rainfall may be locally heavy on the European Side.

In İzmir, the temperature is expected to be 34 degrees, with the weather starting slightly cloudy and clear, becoming partly cloudy over time. While 29 degrees and partly cloudy weather is expected in Kocaeli, the temperature in Bursa will be 30 degrees.

In the Aegean, temperatures are forecast at 37 degrees for Denizli, 35 for Manisa, and 33 for Muğla, where the weather is expected to start slightly cloudy and clear, becoming partly cloudy over time. In the Mediterranean, showers and thunderstorms are expected in Adana, and rainfall is forecast for the inner parts of Antalya in the afternoon.

In Central Anatolia, there is an expectation of showers in the afternoon for the surroundings of Konya and Karaman. In the Western Black Sea, Bolu will be 27, Kastamonu 31, and Zonguldak 26 degrees. In the Eastern Black Sea, showers and thunderstorms may be seen in the inner parts of Trabzon and Rize in the afternoon.

In Eastern Anatolia, there is an expectation of showers in Erzurum in the morning hours, and in some parts of Kars and Van in the afternoon. In Southeastern Anatolia, Gaziantep will be 36, Diyarbakır and Şanlıurfa 38, Mardin 35, and Siirt 36 degrees, with slightly cloudy and clear weather.
