The Meteorological Service has issued a thunderstorm warning for the western parts of Istanbul and the Thrace region. A statement from the Istanbul Governor's Office said, "According to the Meteorological Service, locally heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected in the western parts of Istanbul (Silivri and Çatalca) until the evening hours. According to a statement from the Istanbul Regional Forecast and Early Warning Center of the 1st Regional Directorate of Meteorology, locally heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected in the vicinity of Kırklareli and Tekirdağ, as well as in the western parts of Istanbul (Silivri and Çatalca), until the evening hours.
The rainfall is expected to be intermittently heavy until 8:00 PM this evening.
A warning was issued to be careful and take precautions against potential negative impacts such as flash floods, inundation, lightning strikes, transportation disruptions, and strong winds or hail during the rainfall.
