Turkey's coldest place has been identified
As snowfall continues to affect Erzurum and its surroundings, temperatures at the Eastern Anatolia Observatory have dropped to -12.5 degrees.

The Eastern Anatolia Observatory (DAG), established on the Konaklı Karakaya Peaks at an altitude of 3,170 meters in Erzurum, has ranked as the coldest place in Turkey in September.
In Erzurum, which hosts different climates due to its surface area and vast geography, temperatures were measured at -9.3 in Yakutiye/Kırkgöze Dumlu, -8.8 in İspir Ulutaş, -6.6 in Karayazı, and 1 degree in Uzundere.
The 12th Regional Directorate of Meteorology announced that the weather across the region is expected to be partly cloudy, with sleet expected in the north of Ardahan and in Bayburt and its surroundings starting from the afternoon, and snowfall in higher elevations, with icing and frost expected during the night and morning hours. Experts issued an agricultural frost warning in response to the dropping temperatures, stating, “Since agricultural frost is expected across our region until the middle of next week, it is important for our citizens engaged in agricultural activities to carefully follow the forecasts and warnings.”
