Due to northeasterly winds reaching speeds of up to 40 kilometers per hour at times off the coast of Tekirdağ, 7 domestic and foreign-flagged freighters and tankers were forced to drop anchor. Because of the strong winds, fishermen were also unable to set sail and had to settle for performing net maintenance at the shelter.

İbrahim Pehlivanoğlu, President of the Tekirdağ Süleymanpaşa Fisheries Cooperative, stated in an interview with an AA reporter that fishermen could not head out to sea due to the wind. Pehlivanoğlu expressed that they hope to resume fishing activities once the weather improves and aim to return to shore with anchovies, horse mackerel, and whiting.

The northeasterly wind is expected to continue affecting the city throughout the week.
