Hatay province has reported that waters have begun to recede in the Amik Plain, which had turned into a lake following heavy rainfall across the region last week. Streets, roads, and agricultural lands had been submerged due to the rainy weather. However, with the rainfall losing its intensity in the Demirköprü neighborhood of Antakya district, it has been observed that the water on the agricultural lands is beginning to recede.

A farmer named Cuma Şahan stated that the rainy weather had negatively affected agricultural lands, saying, “Thank God the waters have receded now that the rain has stopped. There is no rain at the moment. Unfortunately, these rains have caused damage to farmers. But the extent of the damage will be clear once the waters have completely receded. The water continues to recede. The waters are receding thanks to the opening of drainage channels and the cessation of the rain.”
