According to the latest forecasts made by the General Directorate of Meteorology, the country is expected to be generally partly to very cloudy with intermittent precipitation. Precipitation is expected to be generally in the form of rain and showers, and as sleet and snow in the western parts of Marmara, the inner Aegean, the higher inner parts of the Mediterranean, the inner parts of the Western and Eastern Black Sea, the north and east of Eastern Anatolia, as well as the higher parts of Eskişehir, the northern highlands of Ankara, and the surroundings of Çankırı.

Precipitation is expected to be locally heavy in the southeast of Eastern Anatolia, the east of Southeastern Anatolia, as well as in Istanbul, Kırklareli, Kocaeli, Sakarya, Yalova, the northern parts of Balıkesir, the inner parts of Çanakkale, Bursa, Rize, Bingöl, and the surroundings of Şanlıurfa. Icing and frost, as well as local fog and mist, are expected in the inner and eastern parts of our country. There is a risk of avalanches on the high slopes of the inner parts of the Eastern Black Sea and the high and steep slopes of Eastern Anatolia.

Air temperatures are expected to decrease by 3 to 5 degrees in the northern and inner parts and the southeast of Eastern Anatolia, with no significant changes expected elsewhere.

YELLOW ALERT IN THE WEST AND EAST

A yellow alert was issued today by the General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM) for Bitlis, Çanakkale, Edirne, Hakkari, Istanbul, Kırklareli, Tekirdağ, Van, and Şırnak.

MARMARA

Very cloudy, with intermittent rain and showers expected across the region, and sleet and snow expected in the surroundings of Kırklareli, Tekirdağ, and Edirne, as well as the higher parts of Bilecik and Çanakkale. Precipitation is expected to be locally heavy in Istanbul, Kırklareli, Kocaeli, Sakarya, Yalova, the inner parts of Çanakkale, the northern parts of Balıkesir, and the surroundings of Bursa.
