According to forecasts by the General Directorate of Meteorology: The northern and inner parts of our country are expected to be partly to very cloudy, with rain and showers expected in the coastal areas of the Western Black Sea, the surroundings of Kırklareli, Sakarya, and Kocaeli, as well as the surroundings of Ordu and Giresun during the night hours; other areas are expected to be slightly cloudy and clear.
Icing and frost, along with haze and local fog, are expected in the inner and eastern parts of our country. There is an avalanche risk on the high slopes of the inner parts of the Eastern Black Sea and the high and steep slopes of Eastern Anatolia.
Air temperatures are not expected to change significantly and are predicted to continue to hover above seasonal norms.
COLD WEATHER WARNING FROM THE ISTANBUL GOVERNOR'S OFFICE
According to the MGM, it is stated that air temperatures are expected to drop on Tuesday, February 4, and are predicted to decrease by 6 to 12 degrees starting from Wednesday, February 5, falling below seasonal norms across the region.
It was noted that the lowest and highest air temperatures in Istanbul, expected to occur starting from Tuesday, are predicted to be 2/5 degrees.
The statement conveyed that the cold weather is expected to persist for a one-week period, accompanied by winds expected to blow strongly from northern directions, and it is predicted that sleet and snowfall will be seen during this period.
In the statement, citizens were urged to be careful and take precautions against snowfall, as well as icing and frost events.
