According to the forecasts made by the General Directorate of Meteorology: The country is expected to be partly to very cloudy, with intermittent precipitation expected in the Central and Eastern Mediterranean, the east of Central Anatolia, the Black Sea (except Bolu), Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia, as well as the surroundings of Kocaeli, Sakarya, Bilecik, and Kütahya.

Precipitation is expected to be in the form of rain along the Central and Eastern Mediterranean coasts, the Central and Eastern Black Sea coasts, and the south of Southeastern Anatolia, and in the form of sleet and snow in other areas receiving precipitation. The precipitation is expected to be locally heavy in the east of Central Anatolia, the south and west of Eastern Anatolia, the surroundings of Kahramanmaraş, Ordu, Giresun, and Siirt, the coasts of Adana and Hatay, and the northern parts of Diyarbakır, Adıyaman, and Batman.

Icing and frost are expected in the inner and eastern parts of the country, along with haze and occasional fog. There is a risk of avalanches on the high slopes of the inner parts of the Eastern Black Sea and the high and steep slopes of Eastern Anatolia.

It is estimated that there will be no significant change in air temperatures and that they will continue to hover below seasonal norms.

YELLOW-CODED WARNING FOR 16 PROVINCES: SNOWFALL IS COMING

According to the latest assessments made by the MGM, a yellow-coded warning was issued for 16 provinces today. While a heavy snowfall warning was issued for Adıyaman, Bingöl, Diyarbakır, Elazığ, Erzincan, Kayseri, Kırşehir, Malatya, Muş, Nevşehir, Niğde, Sivas, Tunceli, Yozgat, Aksaray, and Batman, citizens were asked to be cautious against potential negative situations.

NEW COLD WAVE ON FEBRUARY 17

There is heavy snowfall in the eastern parts of the country starting today. A new cold wave will arrive on February 17.
