In Kocaeli, 5 people were stabbed during a fight that broke out after a chase between two families over allegations that a fiancée had been kidnapped. It was reported that one person is in critical condition.

The incident occurred on Hayat Street in the Mersincik neighborhood of the Derince district.
According to the information obtained, a chase took place between a minibus with license plate 27 ZA 568 and a car whose license plate could not be identified.
During the chase, one vehicle struck another parked car. Following the accident, the parties got out of their vehicles and attacked each other with kicks, punches, knives, and baseball bats.
In the fight, one person was stabbed in the abdomen, one in the throat, and 2 others were stabbed in various parts of their bodies.
Citizens tried to break up the fight
Citizens who were in a coffeehouse at the time of the incident tried to separate the parties. During this time, one of the citizens trying to break up the fight was injured in the hand by a knife.
Following the fight, some suspects fled the scene in a car. Upon notification, health and police teams were dispatched to the area.
The injured were taken to the hospital by ambulances after initial interventions by medical teams at the scene. It was learned that one person is in critical condition.
On the other hand, it was alleged that the parties were relatives and that the incident broke out due to claims that an engaged woman had been abducted. The suspects who fled the scene have not yet been apprehended. The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
