Car hits open manhole cover and skids for meters
In the Süleymanpaşa district of Tekirdağ, a moving car allegedly lost control and struck a median after hitting an open manhole cover on the road. While the car, which skidded for approximately 200 meters, was totaled, the female driver luckily escaped the accident without injury.

The accident occurred on Soğancılar Street in the Çiftlikönü neighborhood of the Süleymanpaşa district.
According to the information obtained, the car with license plate 59 ALG 322, driven by Beyza İ., allegedly struck an open manhole cover on the road.
The driver, who lost steering control due to the impact, first hit the median and then came to a stop after skidding for approximately 200 meters.
Escaped the accident without injury
Following the accident, 112 Emergency Health teams and traffic police were dispatched to the scene upon notification by local citizens.
While health teams determined that the female driver was not injured during their checks, police teams took security measures in the area and launched an investigation into the accident. The car sustained extensive material damage in the accident.
"I thought the manhole cover was cardboard"
Beyza İ., who escaped the accident without injury, said, "I was driving along the road. There was a motorcycle in front of me.
The manhole cover was raised; I thought it was cardboard. I can't remember what happened after that. My car is totaled," she said. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
