Father goes missing after entering Kızılırmak River to save his struggling child
In the Özvatan district of Kayseri, a father went missing after entering the Kızılırmak River to save his child who had been swept away by the current. While the child, who became caught on a tree in the water, was rescued by teams, it was learned that search efforts for the father will resume tomorrow.

According to the information obtained, 11-year-old H.E., one of the children of a foreign national family who went to the banks of the Kızılırmak River in Küpeli Neighborhood for a picnic, entered the water to cool off.
Seeing H.E. struggling after being swept away by the current, the father, M.E. (40), jumped into the water to save his child.
While M.E. went missing in the water after being swept away along with his child, the child, H.E., became caught on a tree in the water.
Upon notification, gendarmerie, AFAD, fire department, UMKE, medical, Turkuaz Underwater Search and Rescue, and police diver teams were dispatched to the area.
H.E., who was caught on the tree, was rescued by the gendarmerie teams that arrived at the scene. After receiving initial intervention at the scene, H.E. was taken to Özvatan State Hospital by ambulance.
It was learned that the 11-year-old child is in good health.
On the other hand, while no results were obtained from the efforts initiated by the teams to rescue the father, M.E., it was learned that the search and rescue operations will resume due to darkness.
