Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) has taken action to support the market shopping of retirees who are struggling to make ends meet with low pensions.
10,000 TL SUPPORT PER YEAR
An annual payment of 10,000 TL will be made to retirees residing in Istanbul who have applied for social assistance and have been identified as being in need. With the market support, which will be paid in two equal installments, a total of 100 million TL in support will be provided to 10,000 retirees.
Through the program called "Retiree Market Support," 10,000 TL in annual market support will be provided to 10,000 retirees identified as being in need.
Applications for the Retiree Market Support, which was among the 2024 election promises of IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, began on October 30.
Within the scope of the program, IMM will make an annual payment of 10,000 lira to retirees living in Istanbul who have applied for social assistance and have been determined to be in need.
PAYMENT WILL BE MADE IN TWO EQUAL INSTALLMENTS
With the Market Support, the aim is to support the household economies of retirees who are struggling to make ends meet due to low pensions.
With the market support, which will be paid in two equal installments, a total of 100 million lira in support will be provided to 10,000 retirees.
WHAT ARE THE IMM MARKET SUPPORT APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS?
The IMM Market Support application requirements for retirees who wish to benefit from the support are as follows:
Being a citizen of the Republic of Turkey
Being a retiree aged 60 or over
Residing in Istanbul
The applicant must be a retired citizen
There must be no income in the household other than a single pension
The pension must be lower than 17,002 TL
WHEN IS THE RETIREE MARKET SUPPORT APPLICATION DEADLINE?
According to the statement made by IMM regarding the matter, applications for the Retiree Market Support will be accepted between October 30 and November 8.
HOW TO APPLY FOR IMM MARKET SUPPORT?
Retirees who wish to benefit from the Market Support can apply for IMM Market Support via the İstanbul Senin application, the IMM Social Assistance website, or the Alo 153 Support Line.
