A new model from the CHP: This is how every voter will be reached

The Republican People's Party (CHP), which has increased party participation through a membership campaign launched during the presidential candidacy process, is now transitioning to a new model for field organization. According to a report by Gülara Subaşı from the ANKA News Agency, the party management aims to establish direct contact with voters at every ballot box by creating a neighborhood-based representation system across Turkey.

NEIGHBORHOOD REPRESENTATIVES WILL COMMUNICATE ONE-ON-ONE WITH VOTERS

According to information obtained from CHP officials, in the new system, for which preparations have been completed, neighborhood representatives will be appointed who will be responsible for the voters at each ballot box. These representatives will establish one-on-one contact with voters to explain the party's policies and goals.

MEMBERSHIP NUMBERS HAVE INCREASED, NOW IT IS TIME FOR FIELD ORGANIZATION

The number of members, which increased significantly with the campaign launched during the candidacy process of the CHP's presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, has laid the groundwork for the new organizational model. The party management plans to officially launch the neighborhood representation system this week.

Party officials stated the following regarding the new model:

"In addition to our provincial and district organizations, we also have neighborhood representatives. However, we do not have neighborhood representatives everywhere, and not all of those we have are active. As part of the work we are doing, we aim to have a CHP representative in every neighborhood in Turkey. Regardless of how many ballot boxes there are in each neighborhood, that neighborhood representative will work in coordination with the district head to find as many ballot box monitors and their alternates as there are ballot boxes."

“We will know those who vote at every single ballot box, and we will carry out work aimed at them”

Stating that they do not view ballot box monitors merely as people who wait at the ballot box on election day, the officials said, “For us, a ballot box monitor means a CHP member who is responsible for every single person who votes at that ballot box. We will have the ballot box monitor work for signatures, for rally efforts, and for other party activities. In other words, from today until election day, the ballot box monitor will be the person who works for the CHP, communicates, informs, and makes announcements to every voter at the ballot box they are responsible for. And when they sit at the ballot box on election day, they will have become someone who knows and is familiar with all the voters and has already established communication with them. Through them, we will reach even the most remote corners; we will know everyone who votes at that ballot box and we will carry out work aimed at them.”

Emphasizing that the current membership situation is different from the past, the officials continued as follows:

"The 550,000 to 600,000 members who have joined recently are people who came of their own accord, and these members want to work for the party. We are a party with 2 million members. If we can get half of these members to work for the party, it will be a revolution at the ballot box. If we do this, we can win the election. Voters will hear what we have to say; no one will say, ‘I am uninformed.’ We want to govern this country and we want to reach all of the voters. Until today, every party prepared their ballot box monitors only for election day. We do not view the duty of the ballot box monitor as being limited to election day. Starting from today, we are building an organizational structure that will explain the CHP to the voter and convey the feedback they receive back to us. Our target audience is all citizens.

“We are not dealing with Erdoğan; our goal is to reach the voter”

We are turning all this pressure, oppression, and polarization to our advantage. We are not standing up and displaying any other hostility. We are looking at how much we are growing. We are looking for ways to organize and work in that area of growth. We are not dealing with Erdoğan or the AK Party. Our goal is to reach the voter, to reach the citizen, to strengthen and grow the party, and to come to power in the election.”
