ACCESS BAN ON CRYPTOCURRENCY EXCHANGES
Access bans are imminent for many websites related to cryptocurrency exchanges. The Capital Markets Board (CMB) has determined that well-known crypto platforms such as Mexc, Coinex, Bitmart, and Poloniex are engaged in unauthorized crypto asset service provider activities. It announced that it has decided to initiate the necessary legal proceedings to block access to these websites in accordance with the third paragraph of Article 99/A and the fourth paragraph of Article 99 of the Capital Markets Law.
OPERATING LICENSE REQUIRED
Article 99/A of the Capital Markets Law No. 6362, upon which the CMB bases its decision to block the aforementioned cryptocurrency platforms, mandates that foreign-based platforms providing services to persons residing in Turkey, or conducting activities such as Turkish language support, advertising, marketing, and similar efforts aimed at targeting these persons, must operate on a legal basis.
