According to allegations, after being subjected to violence for approximately 10 minutes, Fatma Çakırbeyli was stabbed in the neck by her husband, Reşat Çakırbeyli, and left to die.
It was learned that the couple's two children were downstairs during the murder. While police teams began examining security cameras in the family apartment building, the suspect Reşat Çakırbeyli was apprehended, arrested, and sent to prison.
'I HAVE A MENTAL HEALTH REPORT, NOTHING WILL HAPPEN TO ME'
While it was learned that the murder suspect stated in his testimony that he did not remember the moment of the incident, it was alleged that he had previously threatened Fatma Çakırbeyli many times by saying, “I have a mental health report, nothing will happen to me.”
SHE RETURNED FOR HER CHILDREN
Fatma Çakırbeyli's funeral was brought to the village of Yukarıkaşıkara by her brother Hüseyin Şapcı, who serves in Northern Iraq, and she was laid to rest in the village cemetery on December 29, 2024.
Her family stated that when Fatma Çakırbeyli visited the village in the summer, she told her grandmother about the threats and violence she suffered from her husband, but that she had to return for the sake of her children.

Fatma Çakırbeyli's brother, Hüseyin Şapcı, said in his statement at her graveside, "My sister was a very cheerful person who radiated happiness to those around her. This horrific event has deeply affected us all.
My sister did not consider leaving despite the violence for the sake of her children. We demand from our state that the perpetrator be punished in the harshest way possible."
'MY NIECE WAS BRUTALLY MURDERED WITHOUT ANY FAULT'
The deceased's aunt, Ayşe Arslan, said, “My niece was brutally murdered without any fault of her own. Two orphaned children were left behind. We want justice to be served by our state,” while her cousin, Mihriban Akkaya, burst into tears, saying, “My sister was in the prime of her youth. May she rest in peace. We want the perpetrator to serve his sentence.”
WOMEN LAWYERS TOOK ON THE CASE
It was learned that four women lawyers have voluntarily taken on the pursuit of justice for the young mother of two.
