Attacked restaurant with a shotgun after being refused: 1 dead, 3 injured
In the Gömeç district of Balıkesir, an assailant who demanded alcoholic beverages from the business owner opened fire on the restaurant with a shotgun after his request was denied. One person lost their life and three people were injured in the incident. The moments of the attack were captured on security cameras.

According to the information obtained,a 42-year-old individual named Gürkan T. went to a restaurant on Kızko Beach and asked the owner, Ahmet E., for a bottle of alcoholicbeverage.
However, thebusiness owner refused this request. After arguing with the owner, Gürkan T. then left therestaurant and returned two hours later with arifle. The attackeropened fire indiscriminatelywith the rifleassoon as heenteredthedoor.
Inthe attack, which was captured on security camera and took place in the early hours of 2026,Hasan Durka (36), who worked at the Gömeç Municipality Sports Facilities and was at the restaurant to help his friend, the business owner, Zafer A., the business owner Ahmet E., and a woman whose name could not be identified were injured.The attacker, Gürkan T.,fled the scene with the rifle.While Hasan Durka lost his life at the scene, it was learned that Zafer A., who was seriously injured, is fighting for his life at the hospital.It was learned that the business owner Ahmet E. and the woman whose name could not be identified were discharged after their treatments.Following the incident, theGömeçDistrict Gendarmerie Command
teams apprehended Gürkan T. after a two-hour pursuit.

Meanwhile, Hasan Durka, one of the district's beloved young men, was laid to rest at theGömeç Market Mosquefollowing the noonprayer at the GömeçCemetery.
The funeral was attended by GömeçDistrict GovernorMehmet Nesip Mahir, Mayor Melih Bağcı, department heads, Balıkesir AmateurSports Clubs Federation PresidentMetin Mengüç,managers of sports clubs from the Edremit Gulf districts, and hundreds of Gömeç residents.
