In Antalya, a young man who came to a private shooting range to practice suddenly held the gun to his head and attempted suicide. In the incident where the young man, who fired 4 shots in succession, was seriously injured, the duty instructor who tried to stop him despite the bullets was also injured in the face. Those moments were captured on security cameras.

The incident occurred around 16:30 at a private shooting range in the Konyaaltı district. According to the information obtained, Mahmut K.Y. (24), who came to the range as a customer, went to the lane with Ahmet P. (51), a retired police officer and instructor working at the range.
After being briefed on the weapon and shown how to fire by Ahmet P., Mahmut K.Y. suddenly brought the gun to his head after taking it in his hand. Instructor Ahmet P. tried to prevent the young man, who began firing at his own head, with a quick reflex.
TRIED TO INTERVENE
A brief struggle ensued between Mahmut K.Y. and the instructor Ahmet P., who was trying to stop him. While one of the bullets fired in succession hit Mahmut K.Y. in the head, Ahmet P., who was trying to intervene with the gun in the young man's hand at close range, was also injured in the face. While Mahmut K.Y. was seriously injured, one bullet hit Ahmet P. in the cheekbone.
Upon the incident being reported to the 112 Emergency Call Center, numerous medical teams and police were dispatched to the scene, and the seriously injured Mahmut K.Y. was taken to Akdeniz University Hospital.
It was learned that the instructor on duty at the range, Ahmet P., is not in life-threatening condition and is continuing his treatment at Antalya Training and Research Hospital.

The footage shows Mahmut K.Y., who was learned to have visited the shooting range several times before, going to the shooting lane with Ahmet P., and after a brief briefing, suddenly starting to fire at his head with the pistol he took in his hand, and Ahmet P.'s efforts to stop the young man at that moment.
