Authorization restrictions imposed on real estate listings: Fines will be issued for unverified listings!
The Ministry of Trade has initiated a new era for real estate property listings. Attorney Zeynep Sevim, noting that the mandatory authorization verification for listing platforms begins as of January 1, 2025, warned citizens to be cautious.

Attorney Zeynep Sevim stated that authorization verification on listing platforms has been mandatory since January 1, 2025, and said, "Administrative fines may be imposed on those who post listings other than the persons specified in the law."
IN EFFECT AS OF JANUARY 1, 2025
Stating that the introduced obligation aims to protect the consumer, Attorney Zeynep Sevim said, "The Ministry of Trade announced that a mandatory authorization verification for real estate published on listing platforms has been introduced as of January 1, 2025.
The Ministry announced that accounts posting in violation of the new regulation will be closed and administrative fines will be imposed.
'OUR GOAL IS TO PREVENT CONSUMER GRIEVANCES'
In a written statement, the Ministry of Trade reported that the aim is to prevent fake listings, listing clutter, speculative price increases, and consumer grievances that the public is exposed to. As of November 1, 2023, individuals wishing to post listings have only been able to do so on the condition of registering with the Electronic Listing Verification System. As of January 1, 2025, the second phase, the authorization verification application, has been put into effect. To provide details regarding the Electronic Listing Verification System authorization verification application; listings can only be posted by the owner of the real estate or vehicle, first and second-degree blood relatives or the spouse of the owner, and authorized businesses authorized by the owner through the authorization screen in the e-Government system," she said.
Sevim stated that the regulation also covers social media, saying, "The regulation in question covers all listings posted in the electronic environment, including social media, and all real estate and vehicle listings in the electronic environment are meticulously monitored by the Ministry.
ADMINISTRATIVE FINES IMPOSED ON 1 THOUSAND 426 PEOPLE
In recent days, access to the accounts of 1 thousand 426 people who posted listings without complying with the new system has been blocked, and administrative fines have been imposed.
Listings must only be posted by the persons specified in the law. Otherwise, administrative fines may be imposed again," she said.
