Baby dies after choking while breastfeeding
In the İnegöl district of Bursa, a 2-day-old baby, whom its mother had breastfed and put to sleep, lost its life due to milk entering its windpipe.

The incident occurred around 09:00 at a house located on Şadırvan Street in the Mesudiye neighborhood. Two-day-old Emira, the baby of Muhammed (25) and Hema Habbab (23), was breastfed and put to sleep.
The mother, who was sleeping next to her baby, woke up after a while and checked on her. Realizing that her baby was lying motionless, the mother reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center.
Upon the report, police and medical teams were dispatched to the address. Checks performed by the medical teams arriving at the scene determined that the baby's heart had stopped.
The teams provided initial intervention and rushed little Emira to the İnegöl State Hospital Emergency Department.
The unfortunate baby, who was found to have had milk enter her windpipe, could not be saved despite all interventions by the doctors.
While the death of little Emira left her family devastated, her body was taken to the hospital morgue and subsequently sent to the Forensic Medicine Institute to determine the exact cause of death following a prosecutor's examination. An investigation into the incident has been launched.
