The contribution fee to be collected from credit cards with a limit of over 100 thousand TL, which emerged from the AKP's new tax package, has caused reactions among the public.
In addition to credit cards, taxes will also be levied on notary services and second-hand vehicle sales.
With the new regulation, 1 billion 355 million dollars in tax revenue is expected to be collected.
Citizens reacting to the decision lowered their limits above 100 thousand TL to 99,999 TL or lower.
Many citizens shared their transactions on social media.
Furthermore, it was observed that immediately following the decision, banks automatically increased limits and raised limits below 100 thousand liras without customer consent.
While some banks have set their limits to 100 thousand 100 TL, this figure is higher at other banks.
Additionally, in the limit reduction section of mobile banking, a warning was included stating that if a limit reduction is performed, a subsequent request to increase the limit again might not be approved.
