Beşiktaş Club's 123rd anniversary celebrated

The 123rd anniversary of Beşiktaş Club was celebrated with great enthusiasm at an event held in Beşiktaş Barbaros Square, with the participation of President Serdal Adalı, Board Members, and black-and-white fans. Delivering a speech after the iftar time at 19:03, Beşiktaş President Serdal Adalı said, "Great Beşiktaş fans who have supported our Beşiktaş for years at home, away, in stadiums, and in arenas, esteemed guests, veterans of Çarşı, the world-renowned fan group of our Beşiktaş, I am very happy to attend this iftar organization, which has become a tradition for our fans in recent years, on this beautiful Ramadan evening and to be with you. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your invitation."

"How happy we are to be fans of Beşiktaş, the pioneering sports club of Turkish sports"

Noting that this organization holds different beauties for Beşiktaş, Adalı said, "On this beautiful evening, we are once again together with Beşiktaş fans at the iftar table. We live Beşiktaş so sincerely, so wholeheartedly, that even the iftar time today shows 19:03. Furthermore, today we are celebrating the 123rd anniversary of our great Beşiktaş. How happy we are to be fans of Beşiktaş, the pioneering sports club of Turkish sports. We are proud to be soldiers of our Beşiktaş, the only club that represented our National Team with the crescent-star crest on its chest, which gave martyrs in the Balkan War, the War of Independence, and in Anatolian units, and to which the Great Leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk entrusted his family while setting off for Samsun for the War of Independence. There is a Beşiktaş Çarşı that has accompanied 44 years of our 123-year glorious history. In addition to the support you have given to Beşiktaş for years, you have contributed to Beşiktaş culture with your tribune shows and social responsibility projects. You have brought another dimension to the concept of being a fan. However, your task from now on is much more important than what you have done so far."

Underlining that an atmosphere of peace, stability, and trust prevails in Beşiktaş for the first time in a long time, President Adalı said, "Today we are in a period of standing up for our Beşiktaş. For the first time in a long time, an atmosphere of peace, stability, and trust prevails in Beşiktaş. The calls for unity and solidarity we have made recently, the positive moves, and the system we have established are the most important reasons for this atmosphere of trust. You, our fans, also saw these truths, responded to our calls for unity and solidarity, and we have succeeded in becoming a whole again. The greatest indicator of this unity and solidarity is the Kocaeli away game we went to together. This away trip was not done just once for show. We are with you, for Beşiktaş, always and everywhere. We will go to away games, we will be together in amateur branches, and when the day comes, I hope we will sing championship songs together. You are witnessing it too. We are not among those who see themselves beyond Mount Kaf."

Stating that he will continue to support Beşiktaş until the end of his life, Serdal Adalı said, "Serdal Adalı, who experiences the honor of being the President of Beşiktaş today, was also a child who ran away from Adana to Istanbul to watch a Beşiktaş match years ago. No matter what position or status we have reached, that Beşiktaş fan child has never lost his essence. My children and my grandchild have also supported Beşiktaş with you in these stands. This will be the case until the last moment of our lives. We will walk a very long road with you. We will see beautiful days worthy of our Beşiktaş with you. We will sing championship songs together with you. As long as this feeling, this spirit that we have started to capture continues to grow. As long as you follow the path opened by Beşiktaş, as long as we all walk together after Beşiktaş. As long as you do not give a place among you to those whose concern is not Beşiktaş."

President Serdal Adalı continued his speech as follows:

"I have also seen and lived through nearly half of this 123-year glorious history. I have seen both the black and the white, the sadness and the greatest happiness here. The most important thing I have learned in my many years of being a Beşiktaş fan is this: Whenever Beşiktaş has been successful, it has achieved this through unity and solidarity. Whenever Beşiktaş has been one body, whenever it has felt the same emotion with its management, its athletes, and its fans, whenever it has united for the same purpose and the same goal, it has definitely been successful in the end."

"We will heal our own wounds ourselves and we will only embrace Beşiktaş"

Finally addressing the black-and-white fans, Adalı concluded his words by saying, "This road is long, this road is difficult, but even if there are sorrows from time to time, even if we suffer, we will overcome it together. We will heal our own wounds ourselves and we will only embrace Beşiktaş. On this long road, I want to see you in our stadium, at away games, in arenas, in amateur branches, and in Kartal Yuvası stores. I want to see my community and my fans everywhere Beşiktaş is. Following President Serdal Adalı's speech, the Zübeyde Hanım Beşiktaş Band performed a show.

The 123rd anniversary celebration of the black-and-white club ended with the lighting of torches accompanied by anthems and chants.
