The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has announced the motor vehicle statistics for July.
Accordingly, the number of vehicles registered to traffic in July increased by 19.1 percent compared to the same month last year, rising to 276 thousand 615.
During the same period, the number of vehicles deregistered from traffic increased by 17.3 percent to 2 thousand 997. Thus, the number of vehicles in traffic recorded an increase of 273 thousand 618 in July.
Of the vehicles registered to traffic last month, 46.9 percent were motorcycles, 39.4 percent were automobiles, 8.5 percent were pickup trucks, 2.6 percent were tractors, 1.7 percent were trucks, 0.6 percent were minibuses, 0.2 percent were buses, and 0.1 percent were special-purpose vehicles.
The number of vehicles registered to traffic in July increased by 39.3 percent compared to the previous month. During the same period, there was an increase of 106.6 percent in minibuses, 99.2 percent in trucks, 76.9 percent in pickup trucks, 56.1 percent in buses, 43.7 percent in automobiles, 30.3 percent in motorcycles, 18.3 percent in tractors, and 1.4 percent in special-purpose vehicles.
When looking at the annual changes in vehicles registered to traffic in July, minibuses increased by 123.7 percent, buses by 47 percent, special-purpose vehicles by 41.4 percent, motorcycles by 27.9 percent, trucks by 23.3 percent, automobiles by 13.5 percent, and light commercial vehicles by 8.3 percent, while tractors recorded a decrease of 8.7 percent.

Of the 957 thousand 920 vehicles that changed ownership, 64.9 percent were cars, 14.7 percent were small trucks, 13.5 percent were motorcycles, 2.7 percent were tractors, 1.8 percent were trucks, 1.7 percent were minibuses, 0.5 percent were buses, and 0.2 percent were special-purpose vehicles.
In July, 108 thousand 907 automobiles were registered for traffic.
During the period in question, 10.4% of the cars registered to traffic were Renault, 9.3% were Fiat, 8.1% were Volkswagen, 7.2% were Chery, 6.1% were Citroen, 6% were Peugeot, 5% were Hyundai, 4.8% were Opel, 4.7% were Toyota, 4.5% were MG, 4.1% were Skoda, 3.6% were Dacia, 3.2% were Honda, 3% were Ford, 2.4% were Nissan, 2.3% were Mercedes-Benz, 1.9% were Seat, 1.6% were BMW, 1.6% were Audi, 1.4% were Kia, and 8.8% consisted of other brands.
In the January-July period, the number of vehicles registered to traffic increased by 19.2 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 1 million 537 thousand 616, while the number of vehicles deregistered from traffic decreased by 4.6 percent to 16 thousand 506. Thus, there was an increase of 1 million 521 thousand 110 in the total number of vehicles in traffic during the January-July period.
During this period, it was recorded that 65.2% of the 617 thousand 708 automobiles registered to traffic were gasoline-powered, 13.1% were hybrid, 12.4% were diesel, 8.3% were electric, and 1% were LPG-powered.
As of the end of July, it was determined that 34.7% of the 15 million 835 thousand 588 automobiles registered in traffic were diesel, 32.4% were LPG, 29.8% were gasoline, 1.9% were hybrid, and 0.8% were electric. The fuel type of 0.2% of the automobiles is unknown.
In the January-July period, it was observed that 32.3 percent of the cars registered to traffic had an engine cylinder volume of 1300 cc and below, 22.1 percent had 1401-1500 cc, 17.5 percent had 1301-1400 cc, 13.3 percent had 1501-1600 cc, 5.8 percent had 1601-2000 cc, and 0.7 percent had 2001 cc and above.
During this period, 38.7% of the registered automobiles were gray, 25.5% were white, 13% were black, 11.3% were blue, 6.3% were red, 2.8% were green, 0.9% were orange, 0.6% were yellow, 0.4% were brown, and 0.4% were other colors.
