Bombshell claim in Narin Güran murder case! Key figure responds: 'It has no basis in truth'

The hearing of witnesses continued on the 2nd day of the trial regarding 8-year-old Narin Güran, whose lifeless body was found in the Eğertutmaz Stream 19 days after she went missing on August 21 in Diyarbakır.

"I DID NOT KILL HER, SO WHY WOULD I CONFESS?"

The first hearing, which began yesterday, continued today. Nevzat Bahtiyar’s brother, Vecdi Bahtiyar, was heard as a witness during the session.

Stating that a request for help was made to Nevzat Bahtiyar in exchange for confessing to his crime, Vecdi Bahtiyar said, "Ali Rıza Güran spoke with Hasan Kaya and said, 'Nevzat killed the girl, everyone knows it, let him confess to the crime, let him take the blame. We will bring your house to the village, we will help you financially and morally.' I went and told Nevzat during the visit, and he said, ‘I did not kill her, so why would I confess?’ When Narin went missing, I was out of town. My wife told me at first. Then I called Salim Güran. I called for a few seconds and said, ‘Has any trace been found, what is your situation?’ I told Salim, ‘I hope you find the girl.’ I did not call after August 23. That day, I called Nevzat because we go to work together in his car," he said.

ERHAN GÜRAN: "MEETINGS WERE HELD SO SHE WOULD BE FOUND"

Later, Narin Güran’s uncle, Erhan Güran, was heard as a witness.

When asked about the fires that broke out during the search efforts for Narin Güran, Erhan Güran said, "It was in my uncle’s garden, the children put it out with green branches. When it spilled out of the garden at that time, we could not intervene. After Narin went missing, I installed a security camera around my house on September 4, because everyone was installing them. The villagers installed them first. We installed the camera before the body was found, because we were afraid," he said.

"Did you hold meetings so that 'no one would talk' about Narin’s death?" In response to the question, he said, "No, meetings were held so that whoever knows something should speak up and she would be found. We did it in front of the cameras once or twice. We did it once at the school, and we didn't do it after that. After Nevzat was caught, Vecdi called. I said, ‘Who are you?’ He said, 'I am Nevzat’s brother. Know that we have no problem with you.' I said, ‘Did anyone threaten you?’ He said, ‘No.’ Then I said, ‘Go and tell the gendarmerie for the sake of God.’"

"A MEETING WAS HELD AT Ali Rıza GÜRAN’S HOUSE"

Barış Güran, who gave his statement after Erhan Güran, described the meetings held, saying, "Because the JASAT officers kept telling everyone ‘It happened within the family,’ a meeting was held at Ali Rıza Güran’s house. We held a meeting there so that whoever knows what should say it. My brother Salim was not there because he was constantly with the soldiers. I did not witness any fight between the women," he said.

Ali Rıza GÜRAN: "THIS BUSINESS HAS NO BASIS IN TRUTH"

Ali Rıza Güran, one of the witnesses who gave his statement, responded to the question, "Did you tell Vecdi Bahtiyar, ‘Talk to Nevzat, let him confess to the murder, we will give him a house and a car, we will bring his house to the village’?" by saying, "This business has no basis in truth.

It is a complete lie. What did we do to them other than kindness? During the search operations in the village, Salim was with the gendarmerie. Even Nevzat Bahtiyar said one day during my meeting, ‘Hacı brother, may God not leave our rights unavenged.’

When I held the meeting, I did it in cooperation with the soldiers. Outside the family, Nevzat, and Tahir Kaya and Şerif Kaya participated once. We sat together with Nevzat at the mosque. I asked him last. I said, ‘You had a sheikh, everyone came, why didn't he come?’

He said, ‘Everyone went to Istanbul, he was left alone.’ Continuing his statement, Ali Rıza Güran said, 'If he took her from Arif’s house as Nevzat said, then my family killed her. However, if she did not go up the ramp, then he killed her.

Nevzat deceived the girl in front of his house by giving her money, 20 TL notes. This is our claim. Let the camera footage come out, if it is not like this, I accept whatever comes," he said.

Later, Ufuk Kaya, Furkan Kaya, Rojin Güran, Rezzan Güran, and Nesrin Güran were heard. After the testimony procedures, Rojin Güran looked at her father, Salim Güran, and said, "Father, you are my life, I am proud of you."

Then, the Presiding Judge adjourned the hearing to 10:00 AM this morning for the defense’s witnesses to be heard.
