A fire that broke out at a rubber factory operating in the Ergene Organized Industrial Zone in the Çerkezköy district of Tekirdağ grew rapidly, engulfing the entire facility. Emergency teams are continuing their efforts to contain the fire, during which sounds of explosions were heard; the area has been closed to entry and exit for security reasons.

A fire broke out around noon today at a rubber factory located in the Ergene Organized Industrial Zone in the Çerkezköy district, one of the industrial hubs of Tekirdağ. The fire, the cause of which has not yet been determined, quickly engulfed the entire factory.
As the flames spread rapidly, loud explosion sounds began to be heard from the facility from time to time.
BLACK SMOKE VISIBLE FROM KILOMETERS AWAY
While successive explosions occurred in various parts of the factory during the fire, thick black smoke rose into the sky.
It was reported that the smoke could be seen from kilometers away. Eyewitnesses stated that the entire factory was surrendered to the flames within a short time.
TEAMS DISPATCHED, ENTRIES PROHIBITED
Upon notification of the fire, numerous fire, medical, police, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene. Fire crews are making intense efforts to bring the fire under control and prevent the flames from spreading to other nearby factories.
As part of security measures, all entries and exits to the industrial zone affected by the fire have been halted.
NO INFORMATION ON CASUALTIES, INTERVENTION CONTINUES
While no information regarding any loss of life or injuries has been shared so far, an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire.
