Located 12 kilometers from the district center on the shores of Lake Beyşehir, the island, which is part of the Gölkaşı neighborhood, is known as "Çeçen Island."
Agriculture and livestock farming are carried out on the 550 thousand square meter, rectangular-shaped island, which is 2 kilometers long and offers views of Mount Anamas and the lake.
Small livestock and agricultural machinery are being transported to the island, located 2 kilometers from the neighborhood, by raft.
The owner, who decided to sell the island inherited through succession, reached an agreement with a real estate company.
Some interested parties, primarily investors, are also coming to the region to conduct field research regarding the land, which has been put up for sale at 9 dollars per square meter.
Gölkaşı Neighborhood Headman Ali Navruz stated that there is more than one island attached to the neighborhood.
Explaining that agriculture and livestock farming are carried out on some islands, Navruz said, "Çeçen Island has been put up for sale. The price has been set at around 165 million liras. It is 550 dönüm in total size. Livestock farming and agriculture are being conducted on this island. Now it is going to be sold. I know it is a single title deed. People came by recently, I think they couldn't reach an agreement."
Navruz noted that the island can be accessed by rafts and boats with a lifting capacity of up to 10 tons, which they built using their own resources.
Samet Ok, the owner of the real estate company handling the sale of the island, stated, "Selling an island in Konya is exciting. There is no other place like this in the city. This is the only island for sale. It stretches 2 kilometers from north to south, and the section from east to west reaches up to 400 meters. It is a place with natural beauty. There is a lot of demand. The price per square meter has been set at 9 US dollars. We are waiting for our customers."
