Chilling confessions in the newborn gang scandal: Families could not save their babies!
As Turkey is shaken by the newborn gang scandal, reports from families have revealed the true scale of the situation. Families whose babies were placed in intensive care despite being healthy described the immense difficulties they faced in trying to get their children discharged from hospitals. Some families lost their babies while waiting for discharge.

'Newborn' gang is known to be responsible for the deaths of at least 12 babies. However, judging by the complaints received, the history of the incident dates back to 2017.
This situation has increased suspicions that the killers are responsible for the loss of even more babies' lives.
Journalist Seyhan Avşar also shared the messages flooding in to her. In the messages, families expressed their outrage, explaining that their babies were taken into intensive care despite having no health issues.

In the indictment regarding the scandalous incident; while 47 suspects and 19 healthcare institutions are mentioned, it is stated that 10 babies lost their lives. According to the report by İHA; it is stated in the indictment that the main goal of the criminal organization led by Fırat Sarı and managed by İlker Gönen and Gıyasettin Mert Özdemir was to ensure the occupancy of the newborn intensive care units they took over by bypassing the 112 referral system and to receive maximum payments from the SGK by manipulating the patient severity levels.
TWO "DOCTORS" AT THE HEAD OF THE GANG
It was requested that the two doctors at the head of the gang, Fırat Sarı and İlker Gönen, be sentenced to 180 to 273 years in prison each for the crimes of 'causing death by negligence' 10 times, 'fraud to the detriment of public institutions and organizations', 'establishing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes', and 'forgery of official documents' 11 times.
Journalist Seyhan Avşar stated that she has been flooded with reports since yesterday.
Noting that the reports indicate that "the indictment prepared regarding the newborn gang is just the tip of the iceberg," Avşar said, "Private hospitals all over Turkey, especially in Istanbul, are dragging babies to their deaths to defraud the state."
