Controlled ammunition disposal goes out of control: Number of injured rises to 12
In the Çine district of Aydın, 12 people—including 2 gendarmes, 1 police officer, and 9 facility personnel—were injured in an explosion that occurred during the disposal of explosive ammunition that had fallen onto the road after a pickup truck overturned. It was reported that the injuries of those affected are not life-threatening.

According to the information obtained, the ammunition that fell onto the road after a truck loaded with explosive ammunition overturned was taken to the disposal area of a company that produces explosives in the Bağlarbaşı neighborhood of Çine to be destroyed.
During the work carried out there, one of the explosives detonated.
Following the explosion, gendarmerie, medical, fire department, and AFAD teams were dispatched to the region.
Medical teams arriving at the scene transported the 12 people injured during the explosion—2 gendarmes, 1 police officer, and 9 facility personnel—to the hospital by ambulance.
While extensive security measures were taken at the scene, it was learned that the 12 people injured in the explosion are not in life-threatening condition.
Material damage also occurred to vehicles in the area during the explosion.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
