DEM's visit to İmamoğlu stirs up AKP corridors: Is there a stagnation in the opening?
While the failure to take expected steps following the "Öcalan opening" initiated by MHP leader Bahçeli has caused discomfort on the DEM Party front, the party's visit to İmamoğlu has been interpreted as a message within AKP corridors.

The visit by the DEM Party to Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu has stirred the corridors of Ankara. According to some sources, this visit is an indicator of a reaction to the government's failure to take steps regarding the resolution process. According to other assessments, this move was made to balance the discomfort felt within the Kurdish base.
Journalist Nuray Babacan, in her article published in Nefes, stated based on insider information that the DEM Party does not see clear progress regarding the opening process and has therefore turned toward the opposition.

The same article also reported that there is confusion within the AKP regarding the resolution process. It is stated that in response to the DEM Party's expectations, questions are being asked in AKP corridors such as, "What do we have in hand to take a step? Has the PKK laid down its arms? Have the promises made been kept?"
The new process, which began with MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's call for Abdullah Öcalan to lay down arms via the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM), experienced a breaking point during the third meeting in İmralı. In this meeting, Öcalan issued a call to lay down arms.
The PKK, however, responded to this call with "conditional disarmament." In other words, the organization demanded that certain conditions be met instead of a complete withdrawal, signaling that they are open to a limited withdrawal.
In recent meetings, the DEM Party delegation established direct contact with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Following the meeting, the DEM wing described this contact as "hopeful" in their statements. However, the lack of concrete steps despite these statements has led to re-evaluations within the party.
COMMISSION IN PARLIAMENT
The parliamentary dimension of the process is also on the agenda. Bahçeli had called for the establishment of a commission in the TBMM for the resolution process. A signal of support for this call also came from TBMM Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş. Kurtulmuş stated that a commission could be established on this matter before the Parliament goes into recess.
