First stop of the project is Tuzcumurat neighborhood

The first stop of the project was Tuzcumurat Neighborhood, with the participation of journalist and author Ayşe Sucu.

Edremit Municipality has initiated the “Mobile Women’s Support Team” project to make women feel that they are not alone and to produce solutions to their problems. Within the scope of the project, which was launched under the leadership of Gülhan Ertaş, wife of Mayor Mehmet Ertaş, the goal is to find solutions to the problems women face. In meetings to be held in a different neighborhood each month, women's concerns, needs, and expectations will be listened to, and expert support will be provided.

MESSAGE OF UNITY AND SUPPORT FROM MAYOR MEHMET ERTAŞ

Visiting the event area before the first meeting of the project, Edremit Mayor Mehmet Ertaş expressed his support for the project. Chatting with the women, Mayor Ertaş said, “This project is a very valuable step toward finding solutions to our women's problems together and increasing solidarity. We will continue to stand by our women with such efforts in all our neighborhoods. I wish for the first meeting to be beneficial.”

GREAT SUPPORT FROM FEMALE MUKHTARS

To produce solutions to women's problems and expand the project, female members of the Edremit Municipal Council and female neighborhood mukhtars are also supporting the project. The female representatives who attended the events stated that such efforts increase the culture of solidarity and expressed that they are proud to contribute to the empowerment of women in every field.

JOURNALIST AYŞE SUCU ATTENDED THE FIRST EVENT

At the first event held in Tuzcumurat Neighborhood, women came together with politician, journalist, and author Ayşe Sucu. Ayşe Sucu gave a speech on the role of women in society, the difficulties they face, and how these difficulties can be overcome.

During the event, women voiced their problems, and ideas were exchanged on solutions. Emphasizing that the project will proceed with a spirit of solidarity and sharing, Gülhan Ertaş said, “We will be together with our women, hand in hand, heart to heart. Life is beautiful when shared; we are much stronger together.”

THEY WILL COME TOGETHER IN DIFFERENT NEIGHBORHOODS EVERY MONTH

Edremit Municipality’s Mobile Women’s Support Team will continue to meet with women in different neighborhoods in the coming months. Within the scope of the project, information, support, and solidarity activities will be organized for women.

Stating that they aim to add value to women's lives and strengthen social solidarity, municipal officials invited all women to participate in the events.
