Elçin Sangu reacts to the arrest of Ayşe Barım
Actress Elçin Sangu has joined the reactions against the arrest of talent manager Ayşe Barım, founder of ID İletişim, after the investigation into her was expanded on the grounds of being one of the 'planners of the Gezi Park protests'.

The file on talent manager Ayşe Barım, who was under investigation by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office over allegations of 'monopolization' in the TV and film industry, has been expanded, and Barım was arrested and sent to prison on charges of being one of the 'planners of the 2013 Gezi Park resistance'.
Reactions continue to pour in from numerous famous figures, primarily the actors represented by her agency ID İletişim, regarding the arrest warrant issued for Barım due to actions she participated in 12 years ago.
Another reaction to the arrest warrant issued for Barım came from actor Elçin Sangu. Sangu stated, "The arrest of Ayşe Barım based on evidence not disclosed to the public disturbs us all in terms of conscience."
Sharing her views on the matter via her social media account, Elçin Sangu stated the following:
"The arrest of Ayşe Barım, whom I know professionally in the industry and whose political comments I have never seen or heard, based on evidence not disclosed to the public, disturbs us all in terms of conscience. Discussing sectoral issues is a separate matter, but the issuance of arrest warrants for events from 12 years ago based on evidence we have not yet seen only gives me the feeling that we are polarizing again and preparing for another election.
In this matter, which is gradually turning into a communication disaster, elements such as the statements of some of our friends who distort the issue and people who have nothing to do with the industry speaking with a 'know-it-all' attitude are making the process even more chaotic. For the truth to be clarified, it is essential that the law operates transparently and that the evidence is shared with the public. Otherwise, such decisions will go no further than increasing social distrust. I invite those who comment and share on this subject to be serious."
After the ongoing investigation was expanded, Ayşe Barım, for whom a detention warrant was issued and whose home and workplace were searched, remained in custody for days before being arrested by the court she was brought before.
