Europe's champion to be decided: Spain or England?

In the final match of the 2024 European Football Championship (EURO 2024), Spain and England will face off to become the best in Europe.

The grand final to be played at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, the capital of Germany, will begin at 22:00 TSI. The match, which will determine the champion of Europe, will be broadcast live on TRT 1, TRT Radyo 1, and TRT's digital platform, tabii.

The match will be officiated by referee François Letexier from the French Football Federation. Letexier will be assisted by Cyril Mugnier and Mehdi Rahmouni, also from the same country.

Spain, under the management of Luis de la Fuente, reached the final by winning all of their matches.

Spain, which emerged as the leader of Group B—featuring Italy, Croatia, and Albania—with a perfect 3-for-3 record without conceding a goal, reached the semi-finals by eliminating Georgia in the round of 16 and host nation Germany in extra time in the quarter-finals.

The Spanish team reached the final by defeating France 2-1 in the semi-finals with goals from Lamine Yamal and Dani Olmo.

England, under the management of head coach Gareth Southgate, finished Group C—which included Denmark, Slovenia, and Serbia—at the top with 5 points and advanced to the round of 16.

The English narrowly avoided elimination in the Round of 16. After equalizing against Slovakia in the 90+5th minute with a stylish goal from Jude Bellingham, England advanced to the quarterfinals with a goal from Harry Kane in extra time.

In the quarterfinals, England managed to defeat Switzerland on penalties after the match ended 1-1 in regular time and extra time, securing their ticket to the semifinals. The English then defeated the Netherlands 2-1 in the semifinals with a goal from Watkins in the 90+1st minute, becoming Spain's opponent in the final.
