Family tragedy in Adana: Prison officer kills wife and daughter, then commits suicide
In Adana, a prison officer shot and killed his wife and daughter with a handgun. The individual, who did not surrender to the police arriving at the scene, committed suicide with the same weapon.

The incident occurred in an apartment in the Toros neighborhood of the Çukurova district.
According to allegations, prison officer Eyüp Verimli shot and killed his wife, Merve, and his daughter, Elif Verimli, with a handgun for reasons yet unknown.
Meanwhile, the couple's other daughter fled the house upon hearing the gunshots and took refuge with neighbors.
Following the gunshots, citizens called the 112 Emergency Call Center.
Numerous police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.
Realizing that police had arrived at the door of the house, Eyüp Verimli shot himself with the same handgun to avoid surrendering, committing suicide.
The posts on the social media account of Merve Verimli, who was killed by her husband, reading, "As long as I have my daughters, nothing will happen to me" and "You saw me by chance, I loved you by mistake," were heartbreaking.
