A major blow was dealt to the Sarallar gang as part of operations conducted against organized crime groups across Turkey. During the operation, Kenan Koçak, the contractor husband of famous singer Merve Özbey, was also detained. It was determined that Koçak played an active role in the plan to smuggle Turan Yıldırım, one of the organization's key figures, abroad.

UNBELIEVABLE DETAILS OF THE ESCAPE REVEALED

It was revealed that a comprehensive organization was set up for the escape plan that took place on January 15, in order to smuggle Turan Yıldırım through the Edirne İpsala Border Gate. It was determined that Yıldırım was taken to the border gate in the official vehicle of 3rd Class Police Chief Mehmet Deniz Karakurt, who was serving as the Branch Manager for Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM), Migrant Smuggling, and Narcotics Crimes at the Edirne Provincial Police Department at the time.

Among the names accompanying Yıldırım were Kenan Koçak and Ener Aktaş. It was determined that the suspects met near Malkara and moved to the İpsala Land Border Gate together with İshak Aydınoğlu. It was established that Police Chief Karakurt left the vehicle before reaching the border gate, and that Yıldırım and the other suspects completed their procedures at a private border gate that is closed to normal vehicle traffic using two different vehicles.

'BAKLAVA BOX' AND 'CLOSED BOOTH'

According to the report by Sabah, the police and customs officers involved in the escape plan also played a remarkable role. Under the direction of Mehmet Deniz Karakurt, a package inside a baklava box was delivered to Commissioner Vedat Genççağı, who was on duty at the border gate, via police officer Orhan B. During this time, Turan Yıldırım completed his border procedures without ever getting out of the vehicle.

Passport control was carried out in violation of procedures. Upon the instruction of Commissioner Genççağı, police officer Aykut Yeşilyurt only checked the passports of Kenan Koçak and Ener Aktaş. The procedures were completed without checking Turan Yıldırım's passport. Furthermore, it was noted that the procedures were carried out not at a normal booth, but at a closed booth where customs enforcement officer Bahattin Altuntop was on duty.

'PASSPORT LOST' MARKING

After crossing the Turkish border, Turan Yıldırım was not allowed into Greece while attempting to enter the country on the grounds that his passport had a "lost" marking. Following this development, while Yıldırım's fate remains uncertain, Kenan Koçak and Ener Aktaş entered Greece. However, according to customs records, Koçak returned to Turkey at 20:31 on the same day.

8 PEOPLE ARRESTED

Within the scope of the investigation, Okan Özmen, Kenan Koçak, Ener Aktaş, 3rd Class Police Chief Mehmet Deniz Karakurt, Commissioner Vedat Genççağı, police officers Aykut Yeşilyurt and Okan Bay, and customs enforcement officer Bahattin Altuntop were arrested. Additionally, it was determined that İshak Aydınoğlu, who helped Yıldırım pass through the Greek border gate, had also fled abroad, and a search operation has been initiated for him.

KENAN KOÇAK: I WAS JUST GOING ON VACATION

Denying the accusations during his interrogation, Kenan Koçak said that he was going to Greece for a two-day vacation with Ener Aktaş on the day of the incident. Koçak stated, "When I went to Ener's house, I saw Turan Yıldırım, whom I had not met before. We went as far as İpsala, but I have no connection to Turan being smuggled abroad."

However, customs records contradict Koçak's claims. It was determined that Koçak, who claimed he was going for a vacation, returned to Turkey from Greece within just a few hours.
